Firefighters battled intense wildfires in Shengjin, northern Albania, on Tuesday, affecting coastal areas and beach resorts. Albania’s defence ministry described the situation as very problematic. Authorities evacuated some residents and requested international assistance. Fires also spread to regions near Korca and Gjirokastra, as well as the northern city of Shkodra.
