Israel’s military claimed it killed Hezbollah’s most senior commander in an airstrike on Beirut on July 30. Fuad Shukr, in his 60s and Hezbollah’s most senior military commander and a right-hand man to Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, was killed in the attack, as per the IDF. Israel’s strike was in retaliation for a cross-border rocket attack that killed 12 youngsters on July 27 which it blamed on the Lebanese armed group.
